Eye Health

Eye-supportive foods provide nutrients involved in normal vision and tissue protection. Ayurveda connects the eyes with alochaka Pitta while also considering cooling nourishment, circulation, rest, and the health of the whole system.

Eye-supportive foods provide nutrients used in normal vision and tissue maintenance, including vitamin A, carotenoids such as lutein and zeaxanthin, vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc, and beneficial fats. A colorful, varied diet offers more than any single “eye food.”

Ayurveda connects visual perception with alochaka Pitta. Because the eyes can become strained by heat, dryness, screen use, and insufficient rest, support may include cooling nourishment, adequate oil and hydration, good circulation, and regular breaks. Food cannot correct every vision concern. Sudden vision loss, flashes, a curtain-like shadow, severe eye pain, or a new neurological change requires urgent evaluation.
