Hydration Support

Hydration-supportive foods and fluids help replace water and, when needed, electrolytes. Ayurveda considers temperature, season, thirst, digestion, activity, and the person’s state rather than prescribing one universal amount.

Hydration comes from beverages and water-rich foods. Needs change with body size, weather, activity, pregnancy, illness, sweating, and diet. During substantial fluid loss, sodium and other electrolytes may also matter.

Ayurveda considers how fluid temperature and quantity affect agni. Room-temperature or warm drinks may feel easier for some people than large amounts of iced fluid, while hot weather may invite naturally cooling foods. Thirst, urine color, energy, and symptoms provide useful clues, but medical conditions can alter needs. Confusion, fainting, inability to keep fluids down, or signs of heat illness require prompt care.
