Mild Cleanser
Mild cleansing foods support ordinary digestion, hydration, fiber intake, and elimination without harsh restriction or purging. Ayurveda favors simple, appropriate meals that protect agni while reducing heaviness and ama.
Mild cleansing foods support the body’s normal work through fiber, hydration, bitter and astringent plants, and meals that feel simpler and easier to digest. They do not “flush toxins” or replace the liver, kidneys, lungs, skin, and digestive tract.
Ayurveda may use a gentle langhana approach to reduce heaviness and ama while protecting agni and strength. This can mean freshly cooked vegetables, legumes, broths, warm water, and lighter seasoning—not fasting or purging. A cleansing approach should leave you clearer, not depleted. Pregnancy, eating-disorder history, chronic illness, or medication use calls for individualized guidance.
