Skin Nourishing Foods

Skin-nourishing foods offer protein, beneficial fats, colorful plant nutrients, minerals, and hydration needed for normal skin structure and repair. Ayurveda nourishes the skin from digestion outward while balancing dryness, heat, and heaviness.

Foods that nourish skin provide protein for structure, beneficial fats for the barrier, vitamin C for normal collagen formation, carotenoids, zinc, vitamin E, and hydration. A varied, adequate diet is more useful than chasing one “glow” ingredient.

Ayurveda understands skin as reflecting digestion, circulation, tissues, season, and doshic qualities. Dry Vata may benefit from warmth and oils, hot Pitta from cooling foods, and congested Kapha from lighter preparation. Food can support normal skin health but does not replace diagnosis or treatment for persistent acne, eczema, infection, or changing lesions.
