Spring Support
Spring-supportive foods bring lightness, warmth, bitterness, and movement as winter heaviness begins to soften. Ayurveda uses these qualities to balance Kapha while protecting strength during seasonal transition.
Spring brings moisture, movement, and the gradual release of winter’s heaviness. Tender bitter greens, sprouts, radishes, legumes, lighter grains, and warming spices can make meals feel brighter while still respecting cool days.
Ayurveda recognizes spring as a Kapha season. Light, warm, bitter, pungent, and astringent qualities may support agni and reduce stagnation. This is not an invitation to aggressive detoxing. The transition should match the weather, appetite, constitution, and strength—especially when Vata is depleted or the body is recovering.
