Summer Support

Summer-supportive foods offer hydration, minerals, freshness, and cooling qualities without overwhelming digestion. Ayurveda balances Pitta through sweet, bitter, and astringent tastes while adapting meals to heat, activity, and appetite.

Summer meals naturally invite juicy fruits, cucumbers, leafy greens, fresh herbs, lightly cooked vegetables, and fluids that replace what heat and activity take from the body. Minerals and enough salt may matter when sweating is substantial.

Ayurveda uses sweet, bitter, and astringent tastes to soften summer Pitta. Cooling does not have to mean icy or entirely raw; very cold foods can weaken agni for some people. Let climate, activity, appetite, and constitution guide the balance between refreshing foods and meals that still feel digestible and sustaining.
