Vitamin-C Rich Food
Vitamin C–rich foods support collagen formation, antioxidant protection, iron absorption, and normal immune function. Fruits and vegetables provide vitamin C alongside fiber and many other plant nutrients.
Vitamin C is used in collagen formation, antioxidant protection, wound healing, normal immune function, and absorption of iron from plant foods. Peppers, citrus, berries, kiwi, broccoli, cabbage, tomatoes, and many fresh vegetables and fruits contribute meaningful amounts.
Vitamin C is sensitive to prolonged heat and storage, so a mixture of fresh and gently cooked produce can be useful. Ayurveda considers the whole food: very sour fruits may aggravate Pitta or reflux, while raw produce may not suit weak agni. High-dose supplements can cause digestive upset and may not be appropriate with certain kidney conditions.
