Ayurveda Analysis

Ghee pacifies both Vata and Pitta doshas but may aggravate Kapha due to its heavy, cold and oily nature.

It can be used in place of any cooking oil.  When used in baking, you may need to add another liquid as the process of making ghee removes the water and hard to digest milk solids.

Buying, Preparing & Storing

Watch the video to learn how to make ghee.  It is an easy process.  There is nothing like homemade ghee.

Refrigeration is not required.  Store in glass jars with lid out of the sun.

Kapha, in excess

Serving & Recipes

Use it like you would any other cooking oil.  If using in baking, you may need to add another liquid to replace the water taken out of the butter.

Medicinal Effects:

In Ayurveda, Ghee is highly revered for its healing benefits.  I think of it as liquid gold.  It aids in strengthening the immune system, supports healthy tissue, for cleansing and may aid in weightloss.
