Ayurvedic Bodywork & Nervous System Care

Ayurvedic bodywork offers grounding, nourishing care that supports the nervous system and the body’s natural rhythms. Sessions are unhurried, seasonal, and guided by what your body needs in this moment.

What to Expect

Sessions may include warm herbal oils, focused therapeutic techniques, or subtle energetic support. You don’t need to know which treatment to choose — care is guided by the season and your body on the day of your session.

Seasonal Focus

Ayurveda teaches that different forms of care are supportive at different times of year. While all treatments are available, certain offerings are emphasized seasonally:

  • Winter & Fall:  Abhyanga — grounding, warming, and deeply nourishing

  • Spring:  Garshana & Vishesh — clearing stagnation and supporting circulation

  • Summer:  Kati Vasti & Reiki-infused care — targeted support and nervous system soothing

This seasonal approach allows the body to receive what it most needs, when it needs it.

Sessions & Scheduling

Bodywork sessions are offered by appointment on a limited weekly schedule to ensure spaciousness and presence in each session.  If you’re unsure which treatment is best for you, you’re welcome to book a session and we will determine the most supportive approach together.

This work may be supportive if you are experiencing:

  • Chronic stress or nervous system dysregulation

  • Fatigue or burnout

  • Joint discomfort or stiffness

  • Difficulty resting or slowing down

  • Seasonal transitions or life changes

  • A desire for grounding, nurturing care

You do not need to be “unwell” to receive Ayurvedic bodywork. Many people come simply because their body is asking for rest and support.

Preparing for Your Session - What to Wear

Wear comfortable clothing and choose items you don’t mind getting a little oil on. While care is taken to protect clothing, Ayurvedic treatments often involve warm oils, and a small amount may remain on the skin or fabric after your session.

You may also wish to bring a layer for warmth, as the body often feels relaxed and open afterward.

After Your Session - Integrating the Work

After bodywork, your nervous system may be in a quieter, more receptive state. When possible, allow the rest of your day to be gentle and spacious.

Supportive activities may include rest, quiet time at home, warm meals, light movement, journaling, or time in nature. Avoid rushing, heavy stimulation, or scheduling demanding tasks so the body can fully integrate the work.
