These crackers began the way many recipes do in my kitchen—with a little of this, a handful of that, and my fingers acting as measuring spoons. LOL.
I combined sourdough starter with sesame seeds, crumbled kale from the garden, warming spices, pink Himalayan salt, and coconut oil. The result was a deeply savory cracker with a beautiful golden color and little flecks of green throughout.
They are lovely on their own, alongside soup, or served with hummus, soft cheese, or another creamy spread.
From Garden Kale to Golden Crackers
Ayurvedic Perspective
These crackers bring together sesame seeds, coconut oil, turmeric, and cumin in a savory, satisfying combination. The oil and seeds add richness to the naturally dry, crisp quality of a cracker, while the spices bring warmth and support comfortable digestion.
Because crackers are dry and light, those with more Vata may especially enjoy them alongside soup, hummus, soft cheese, or another creamy accompaniment.
